Meet the Miss Hawaii USA Executive Team

Alicia Michioka - Executive Director


Alicia Michioka was born and raised on the island of Kauai, where she began her pageant journey. She won the title of Miss Hawaii USA® in 2003, was placed in the Top 10 at Miss USA 2003 and in the following year, crowned her sister, Justine, making pageant history in Hawaii! She is a graduate of Hawaii Pacific University, where she received a Double Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising and Journalism and a minor in Theater.


She also studied in Japan for one year as an exchange student. Her production company has produced TV shows, documentaries, and many local commercials. Her productions include a documentary with John Walsh of "America’s Most Wanted" and statewide Pageant telecasts.


Professionally, Alicia has been recognized as a PBN's 40 Under 40 Award recipient. She is the Associate Publisher for the largest luxury media company in the country and has worked with clients throughout the state in just about every industry. She is also a beauty and health consultant, who helps those looking to improve their mind, body and skin.


She has appeared on the covers of many local magazines and International and National ad campaigns. Her TV and film credits include Melrose Place, Baywatch Hawaii, Beyond the Break, and 50 First Dates. Her best role to date is being the proud mother of two young boys.

Nicole Patterson - Associate Director


Nicole Patterson is originally from New Jersey where she earned a B.A. in History from Montclair State University and an M.A. in American History from Monmouth University. While attending graduate school, Nicole found a temp job as an admin for a condominium association and turned the position into a career in property management.


She moved to Oahu in 2006 and is the General Manager of Waihonua, a luxury condominium in Kaka’ako. Nicole was awarded the Accredited Residential Manager designation by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®) and is an active member of the ARM® Executive Committee. She was a 2014 IREM® Member of the Year award recipient.


In 2013, Alicia Michioka introduced Nicole to the world of pageants and after a year of assisting the volunteer committee, she became the Director's Assistant. Nicole’s favorite part of Miss Hawaii USA is being able to provide contestants with an exciting experience that helps them grow more confident in themselves!

The Miss USA Organization empowers women around the world to realize their personal, professional and philanthropic goals through experiences that build self-confidence and act as catalysts for future success. We celebrate beauty, all forms of it, and provide the tools that help women to feel their most beautiful.

The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) is a global, inclusive organization that celebrates women of all cultures and backgrounds and empowers them to realize their goals through experiences that build self- confidence and create opportunities for success. MISS UNIVERSE®, MISS USA® and MISS TEEN USA® provide the approximately 10,000 women who participate annually an international platform to effect positive change personally, professionally and philanthropically as inspirational leaders and role models.

What Do We Do?

· In partnership with our network of state and international directors and their teams, we provide access to personal, professional and philanthropic opportunities oftentimes not readily available to the nearly 10,000 women who participate in the Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA programs annually.

· We cultivate a global community of accomplished women through our programs, which offer the next generation of female leaders opportunities to realize their full potential.

· Through our global network of resources, young women learn to:

· Be civic-minded and give back in their communities

· Discover their passions and pursue them without fear

· Develop their unique points of view and how to articulate those opinions

· Support each other and create a grassroots sisterhood committed to empowering one another and their communities in a world that can seem increasingly isolating

· Learn beauty, health and wellness tools that enhance their self-confidence
